Home: About Us: In the Community
Our aim is to provide support to community projects for example over the last two years we have supported Boomer Industries Macmillan Cancer coffee morning and Spanboards quiz night in aid of Colitis and Crohns Disease. We feel that these are both very worthwhile causes and encourage all at QIN to take part.
Day for Sick Children – Kilwaughter By Alan Welshman MD QIN Ltd and PCGB regional organiser region 27 Ireland
QIN Ltd are used to writing articles based on Business Improvement however this time we are covering a very important aspect of business in Northern Ireland - sponsored charity events bringing companies together with a common goal of supporting children with special needs. This will be a six monthly occasion continuously improving based on this year’s event.

This event had been planned for some time mainly by Alan & Alyson Welshman, Sara Skelton and Karen McCague. The purpose was to provide handicapped children, children with brain injuries etc and their families with a day of fun; to take their minds off their normal day to day struggles. The weather was fine and over eighty five people came along plus 17 drivers and their beautiful cars, although one of these was a Ferrari! The event was kindly sponsored by Genesis Breads, Grampian Country Pork, Crossgar Meats, Easability Showers, Tyrone Crystal, QIN BIT Ltd and Agnew – Porsche. The drivers for the day came from both Region 27 and Region 1, these members gave up their time to ensure the children had the opportunity to enjoy a fun drive in some stunning cars, the event team on the day is too large to cover but the Region 27 committee would like to thank them all for the fantastic support on the day.
A special mention goes to Sgt. Gary McMaster – PSNI Larne for his assistance and the Traffic Branch motorbike escorts for the way they handled the coastal drive. Also a big thank you to Karen McCague – CBIT, for enlisting most of the families. Thank you also to our Region 1 friends; Alan Seadon & Anne Marie McEvoy, Peter & Susan O’Malley, Asish Hurhangee and Clare & Ferdie Le Fevre who travelled over from Scotland to show their support, we really appreciated and enjoyed their company.
Thanks to all the drivers including Steven Thomas from Agnews – Porsche, who brought along a stunning 997 Cabriolet and played games with the children all day.
It was a privilege to have these special children spend the day with us, see below some of the feedback from the families
